The way BD works is sometimes close to the limits of the C64. I did a somewhat different approach in XDC, yet the overall performance is about the same. Could you tell me more about that different approach? Or could you point me to a C64 executable that I could analyse myself? I don't think that yo...

Well, it's hard because it is rather slow :) I like 1k-mini-bdash even more so ( http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=66970 ) :) I'm thinking about coding another BD engine version (with original CharSet) for the C64 that supports really large caves (e.g. 500x40, or 100x100, or...), without gettin...

I think it's really cool that you keep creating more content for the C64, that you stick to your ideas, and that you actually finish your projects, complete with boxes and all. Thanks a lot!

Two thumbs up for always using the original CharSet!

Is it just me, or are those caves incredibly hard? I mean, it's one thing to look at a full map of each cave and try to think of some theoretical solution while obeying the known Boulder Dash rules, but it's 99.999% close to impossible to actually play and finish those caves on a real C64 - without ...

C64 Mini-Boulder Dash written in plain BASIC

Hi everybody, I wrote another Mini-Boulder Dash for the C64, this time in plain BASIC - for the "2nd 4k BASIC Compo" over at the Forum64.de. Please have a look at the forum thread: http://www.forum64.de/wbb3/board2-c64-alles-rund-um-den-brotkasten/board8-spiele/33707-2nd-4k-basic-compo-das...

I'm still dreaming of writing a "perfect" BoulderDash engine for the C64 What exactly are your criteria for a "perfect" BoulderDash engine? Hm, I don't have exact criteria. First of all, it's about the fun of writing the engine myself from scratch. :) I'd like the look and feel ...

I'm still dreaming of writing a "perfect" BoulderDash engine for the C64, and maybe for the Amiga, too.
By the way, are there any BoulderDash clones for the Amiga that look and feel like the real C64 BoulderDash?

This one looks interesting: http://codebase64.org/doku.php?id=base:horizontal_screen_positioning_hsp. It needs to be adapted for multinorm, though. I think, it would be a step in the right direction. If I would write the outermost visible colum of the current cave position in each raster time, vide...

I afraid, this feature will not make it into my next engine. The flash would be the problem, taking too much time. I really don't want to stuck for a moment when the flash appears, throwing you completely out of the rhythm and losing a life every time this happens. Really? set_color: lda #9 ; 9 = w...

C64 Mini-BDash in 1024 bytes!

Hi everybody, I wrote some kind of Mini-Boulderdash for the C64 for the "1024 Bytes Game Compo 2nd Edition" over at the Forum64.de. Please have a look at the forum thread: http://www.forum64.de/wbb3/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=23241 The game contains four caves and 256 levels, so yo...

Boulder Dash III

This week was the first time I ever saw the original box Boulder Dash III was sold in. And when I say "I saw", I actually mean that I found the game on eBay. The auction is over, you can have a look here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300208648711 No, of course I w...
