How can I make my own maps with BDCFF > BMP program?
Whenever I compile a game I can't wait to see the maps for it. Is it easy to do without any prior knowledge and are the tools readily available?

Email Arno and he'll send you a program that will make BDCFF's from C64 memory dumps. That's about as easy as it can get
. I don't know if you can download the converter directly from anywhere.
You'll need CCS64 to make memory dumps easily.
Once you have that emulator, just do this.
-Load your game
-Go to the title screen
-Go to File > Machine code monitor
-Type S FILENAME 0000 FFFF (0's are zeros) and hit enter
-Type X and hit enter.
-In the CCS64 folder there will be a file called FILENAME (or whatever name you chose)
That's how to make a memory dump, Arno will have to give you the converter before you can do more.

Just to point this out, Tim Stridmann actually intended to upgrade to my proposed version on his site, but never did.
Besides some extensions ment for my upcoming PC version, were BDCFF files will be the native cave format, most of my added features are there to be more compatible to any engine version of the C64. Thus, I suggest considering this extended version in the next version of the BDCFF tools.
In version 0.32 it is impossible to represent most 1stB and CLCK caves, Rockford's BD2 extended map format, PLCK Diego effects and some more popular engine mods. It's all in there in my updated version.
