With the conclusion of Alchemyst Dig! and the establishment of the premise of a hapless miner who would do anything for riches, it's time for a second chapter (while on top of presenting a new style), as our protagonist comes across rumours as a series of ancient hoards known as the Myriads of Mt. Itsel.

-- It's time for Alchemyst DangerDash --

First release as Windbliss, which is my new development moniker.

Let's see how far this takes us, shall we?
Let's not forget that the Github repo and the associated megapack has been updated with the new release.

I'll defer submitting to the gamebase until I am certain there are no issues. Instructions on how to grab is as simple as visiting the "releases" page, and loading up "Alchemyst Dangerdash 1.bd" in GDash.

Time to get digging!

There's a bug in Dangerdash 1 H/2 where the magicwall activates by itself. This is unintentional and the seed for H/2 will be cycled. This and other cleanups are incoming.

EDIT: Dangerdash 1 1.01 is available..
  • Adjusted H/2 (Anger) seed so magic wall doesn't auto-activate.
Adjusted diamond requirements in B (Storage) so only full 60 is required in level 5.
Adjusted a few seeds in K (Rebox) so you can get larger/more consistent containments. Later on you need to be more creative
Moved exits in N (Firepit) to the upper left and right edges.
Adjusted seeds in a few levels of O (Loudboxer).
Adjusted requirements in Outro 2 (Dexter) so perfection isn't required. Time is now 120 from 100
Adjusted levels 4 and 5 randomness in Outro 4 (Oscar).
Adjusted INT 5 (Repeat Until) so you are more guaranteed to win the intermission and/or get max stock for next loop.
Packages were updated.

EDIT 2: Contact info has been changed. It is now interesting(dot)output[at]gmail{dot}com.

DangerDah 1.01 is moved to final, and you can now retrieve it from the Boulder Dash Game Base. Once again, thank you Arno :)

DangerDash 2 has been uploaded to the github. The pack will be updated to include this caveset alongside all the previous sets released. Continuing the "four main starts and a fifth tab outro" layout the previous series had, you'll probably recognise we're not done with the so-called treasure vaults called the "Myriads". Well, another one's been found, so it's time to get on it.

But be warned: the second Myriad won't be liberated as easily as the first!

Gamebase submission will be soon, once I have the time to fire off an email.

Cool! :D

I'm just playing through your games again on the higher levels :D And I just discovered an unsolvable cave: AD2, IV/4, where Rockford is trapped at the start. Could easily be fixed with a different seed; for example, if you change it from 8 to 7, then the five seeds would be the first five primes :D

You're using an old version of Alchemyst Dig 2. Apparently this was not uploaded to the Game Base. IV/4 was fixed in the most recent version (by creating a dirtsquare surrounding Rockford). The version should be 13 May 2021.

I've submitted the update to Arno so that the BDGB will have the fixed version.

I used the version in the latest GDash port version. Looks like the fixed version isn't there yet...

There might be a possibility that I might not have updated my github for the latest version. Let me get on it.

EDIT: Let me go nudge the GDash github for a change :)

EDIT 2: Alchemyst Dig 2.bd is now the current version in the GDash package.

Alchemyst Dangerdash 2 was updated to fix a missing element in cave A which caused a block in A/3.

@zsom - to start any game obtained from the archives, you need GDash. Importantly, you need to make sure GDash is associating .bd files.

You should then be able to 'use' "Alchemyst DangerDash 2.bd" to start GDash loading that caveset.

Thank you for today's correction to Cave A1.
In the previous version, I couldn't start playing because the stone was blocking me.

I realised a bit late that there was a glowing error but I wanted that rectified ASAP. As to how that dirt strip element disappeared I have no clue.

The fix for DangerDash Vol.2 is now up on the GameBase. Please download it if you have been afflicted with the Cave A bug.

Alchemyst Dangerdash Vol.3 is being started. There are a few things that need to be pointed out:

- It will be the first caveset that uses RGB instead of C64, so it'll look dramatically different.
- It will involve the labrat from Alchemyst Dig 1 again (in terms of story), except this time, the theme is mineral gemstones
- Exactly what theming these gemstones will be, or what these gemstones are, I won't reveal yet (though if you do some searching, a few are immediately obvious). Hint: it's an A-Z
- The title card actually has a sub-title. That's all I'm going to say.

All I can say is that this caveset will be done a good deal before the year's end, and there will be no carryovers from the designs at Krissz's (at least this time). Be patient! :)
