Well this is unexpected.

Alchemyst Dangerdash Vol.3 has been released. This is more of a "return visit to the alchemyst" caveset involving mineral gemstones. Each cave has RGB color arrays representative of these gemstones in some way, or how they are presented. Look at the titles to see exactly what gemstone is used, as well as the actual title of the caves.

The difficulty of "Mohs 6" is a reference to the Mohs scale of hardness, which indicates not only scratch resistance, but how capable a mineral can scratch a lesser hardness.

A drop for the BDGB is en route.

P.S. I made sure to test every level of every cave this time, so as to not screw up this particularly momentuous release ;) Something I should be doing all the time :P But this will be the last caveset of the year.

Alchemyst Dangerdash 03 has been updated to 1.01.
- Adjusted the third color from #FF3333 to #FF6666 for a less intense red in Cave N (Nambulite)
- Fixed the remark of Cave X so the actual mineral is referred to as Xonotlite.
The bundle is updated.

Nice game again! :| I had a kind of flashback to my childhood, where I remember when I finally made it through cave P and Int 4 in BD1. I was expecting to see cave Q for the first time and I was quite disappointed to see that there actually was no cave Q! Here, it was the opposite: after finishing cave P and int 4, I thought "nice game" and expected the next level, but I was happy to see cave Q instead!

My introduction of using caves after P was born solely on two factors, actually: the prior one you just mentioned (C64 BD just going to level 2 after int 4), and seeing NES BD going further than what is considered cave P (whose caves were reprised in fansets such as RTA Dash). I wanted to give players a little more than the standard 20/5 experience, and seeing I have delivered on that makes me smile.

Oh snap, a post in this topic. You know what that means? Alchemyst DangerDash Vol.4 has been released. The release pack on the Github has been updated, and I'll be submitting it for the BDGB when I have time tomorrow.

This time it's 25 caves / 5 levels, and one of these caves will exhibit a familiar gimmick if you've played the prior volume..

Good luck!

Edit: Adjusted Cave B: L3 had its quota reduced to 20; L5 had its time adjusted to 120.

Edit 2: Adjusted some seeds due to unintended behaviour and softlock potentials; adjusted EX Cave B to have 12 diamond requirement regardless of level now, and adjusted score per diamond to compensate. It should be fully completable with some L5s being a bit tight.

Sidenote: The score is a little more generous compared to some of the other releases. This is to potentially alleviate unfairness when reaching tricky caves down the line, by having more lives getting there.

Fellow gem gathering enthusiasts, a new post means only one thing.

Dangerdash Vol.05 has been released! This levelset offers 25 levels and four starts, with unique messages for each level the ending happens. Taking place after the events of Vol.04, you're given a once in a lifetime opportunity to secure as much of a trove of a dragon since long ascended, on the behalf of the only retainer still alive. Riches and danger abound! Fortune and glory await the bold! But the crypt was considered dangerous to outsiders for a good reason...

Find it at the releases alongside whatever parts of the Alchemystics cave suite you haven't obtained yet. It will be submitted for the BDGB soon(tm), and for the GDash package later.

Just updated the GDash level package for R'n'D accordingly, if you like to play this new cave set with Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine!

The updated package also contains a few fixes for cave sets "Alchemyst DangerDash" and "Alchemyst Dig", which makes one previously unsolvable cave solvable now.

The caveset you might've been using was most likely outdated if there was one with issues. Glad the push came through.

I was indeed using the cave sets from the latest version of the semi-official GDash repository ("gdash-export-CrLi").

The cave that did not work there is the very first cave from "Alchemyst DangerDash Vol. 2", which locked the player at the very start. I have replaced all cave sets for the "Alchemyst DangerDash" and "Alchemyst Dig" series with the BDCFF files from your release package, so everything should work as intended now. :)

Thanks for pointing it out. I'm opening an issue with the repo pointing this out.

EDIT: doing comparisons between the archive and what I currently had in my repo, revv has 1.0 whereas I had 1.01 which addressed this. I brought it up while I was opening the issue. I also permitted the use of the entire current release for the purpose of ensuring the caves offered in the repo are up to date.

No word from Arno in regard to publishing Dangerdash Vol.5 to the GameBase just yet.

DangerDash Vol. 01 was updated: G/3 (Mysticism) had an autofill RNG state where the level auto-failed due to the magic wall immediately triggering. The seed for the initial fill was adjusted to prevent it. The pack is updated to reflect this.
