It was a diamond
It will stay with rockford once you collect it, but if you're looking up toward another one (one of his friends), it's probably falling on your head. Then rockford's dead, and he loses any diamond that he collected. ;)

What engine is it in?

There's more than 255 seconds left.

I can't tell. All you need to know is in the screenshot.

The diamond counter has only 2 digits, like in the BD1 engine, but the timer has more than 255 seconds, which is only supported by later engines?

Exactly. Such an engine does not exist. It's your turn.

Alright, here goes:

Out of BD1 and BD2, which cave's size could be reduced to 28x20 without any consequences? (Assume that you can only subtract columns from the right-hand side.)

BD2 Cave F

You nailed it!

At first it may seem like BD1-J and BD2-E would also make sense, in both of those, the exit would be lost - and that wouldn't be good.

The turn returns to you. :)

Here is that particular cave, though something is wrong with it. What is it?

The graphics on the vertical normal wall are vertically inverted.

The status bar is too far to the left. BD1 has some space on the left which was shifted in BD2 to fit another digit into the counter for collected diamonds.

Absolutely! That one wasn't easy. :)

Your turn.
