Give me your e-mail address - I mail it to you! I have perfect Boulder Dash samples from an original C64 computer (not emulator)!

Hi :)

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if I too could get the original sounds for boulder dash?

I have tried to PM user CWS but they haven't answered...

If anyone can help, just PM me and I will reply with my email address :)

Thanks for your time!

cheers,
Paul

Thanks guys :)

I had previously managed to simulate the falling diamond + digging through dirt/space sounds using some source code I wrote to create sounds similar to the C64 SID chip, but it didn't work for falling boulders and other sounds :)

Thanks again, I will have a play with the sounds...should be fun :)

PS. if I ever finish my boulder dash inspired game I am making (http://theprobegame.com), and somehow make some money off it, would it be ok if I used some of the sounds in it?

I know it should be ok to use the sounds if I keep it free, but wasn't sure if I sold it...

cheers,
Paul

I think, First Star Software is the one you should do that kind of business with, as they are the copyright holder.

So far, they tolerated free games, as long they don't have Boulder Dash and Rockford in their names and don't use the original caves.
If you intend to sell your game however, you really should acquire a license.

My game doesn't use boulder dash, Rockford, or use any of the original graphics in it, and has some new concepts in it, so I guess that part is covered :)

I also haven't used any of the original caves either.

I just wasn't sure about using some of the sounds...

Paul
