Hi, first post here...I have just rediscovered BD via emulation on the C64.....looking forward to making some caves....I was wondering after reading through the forums, Is the Peter Liepa Construction Kit (PLCK) the same as the commercial construction kit released by First Star?

Yes.

But if you do caves, it's better to use CLCK

What does CLCK do that PLCK will not?

It's an enhanced editor. Bug free engine, more objects, mouse support! Much easier to draw caves with CLCK.

You can also use GDash on modern systems (Windows, Unix). Has a great editor and can export as bcff. Works together with CLCK.

Had a quick look at CLCK - the interface is nice and easy to use - one question, On the item select menu, there are 4 butterflies and 4 firelies - what are the differences between them?

Initial direction. At the cave start, the butterfly or firefly will move in one of the 4 directions, depending on which butter/firefly you have selected.

what are the bugs in PLCK? Are they only present when you are using the editor or do they transfer to the final game after putting it all together with a compressor?

Hurrah
I have to boast.
After a few years, I managed to explore Crazy Light Construction Kit 3.0

I did everything just like in a training movie.
And I managed to make 100% my first Boulderdash game under emulator c64.

Thank you LogicDeLuxe

Thank you Arno.
I will honestly say that now that I have learned to operate CLCK 3.0 I do not think so terrible anymore :)

I regret that I have no answer about the xdc engine from LogicDeLuxe.

Have a nice day
