Disk image of my CLCK caves :)

I made this disk image for CWS but figured I might as well slap it on the forum. Mostly these are prototype caves although there are a select few that I think are perfect as they are. Many of them need difficulty balancing and tweaking.

I'll post a bit more about the caves and the ideas behind them a bit later, after you've had a chance to play them a bit.

Honest criticism is welcome with the above kept in mind! The extended feature set is great but it takes a bit of getting used to, to get maximum use out of it.

Great! I like the climbing cave called 'Uppity', nice use of the border effect! :D

Also 'Fallbrickrooms' and 'Greenandredrun' - make me think of a C64 game in which you explore some caverns with deadly stones falling from above when you're right beneath it (don't remember the name.....).

Those are my favourites also :) I need to make more caves like those.

Interesting fact: The amoeba in "EscortIslands" acts like amoeba in every way but will never grow (not even a teeny bit). It's not as simple as setting both amoeba speeds to 0, you have to tell the amoeba to change into amoeba immediately (by setting the limit to 1 unit). I think this is useful since I've always wanted to be able to have amoeba that doesn't grow (like you can in Diamond Caves and Emerald Mine on the Amiga :)

I like combining and playing with the CLCK effects to see what meta-effects I can create!

Interesting! Amoebas that don't grow!

You once wrote that you want to make a game with "adventure" theme. I guess those caverns with falling stones are well suited for that (and also the climbing cave)!

I've still got to try them, they sound interesting! :)

[Edit]
Well, the designs look good, but the new elements and border-warping just don't retain that nice simplistic BD feel for me. There's nothing bad about them, of course, it's just not my cup of tea... :dunno:
