BTW:
I like to draw,, feel free to request me to draw sprites for a bd-like/fan game
If you would like to play BD caves using your own, self-drawn Rockford graphics, you can do so by defining your very own artwork set for the game "Rocks'n'Diamonds" (which can play all those thousands of BD caves from GDash), which you can then select to play your games with. You are a bit limited regarding the size of the graphics (animation frames), but they are in no way limited to those small 16x16 or 32x32 pixel sizes (but also shouldn't be too large either). For example, you could use a tile size of 64x64 or 128x128 pixels, which may give you enough room for your drawings of Rockford and other BD game elements. (But I would recommend to not scale your graphics, but draw them for the chosen size, to keep lines sharp and not blurred.)

The technical details to create your own graphics set might be a bit tricky at first, but as soon as you have managed the start (where I could help by creating the first working graphics set, which you could then expand with newly drawn graphics), things get much easier (by just adding new or changed graphics into the existing graphics set and adding or changing a few lines in a config file, which simply tells the game which image file to use and where to find the rectangle with the BD graphic inside this image file). Having a look at the already existing graphics sets for the GDash level collection for Rocks'n'Diamonds should also help a lot. (Of course, you can add your own sounds and music just as easily, too!)

I will of course also help everyone else who might be interested in creating a custom BD artwork set (like CWS already did, and which is also part of the GDash level collection as a good example how to do it, or as a good starting point for own experiments). :)
