Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
Thanks a lot for your detailed explanation, Agetian! Yes, that makes sense! I think I should solve it exactly as you have described it! And this could then be the default behavior for the case of not playing with multiple lives, as the flashing animation has no real other value in this case, just as...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
Interesting idea, but how does the game know if you have beaten the current high score for a cave before the cave is completely finished? Sure, if you have a higher score than the current high score at a given time during the game, things are clear. But in most cases, the extra score for the remaini...

Re: Problem with first/last row not scanned for PLCK cave
Thanks, LogicDeLuxe, for your assessment regarding the potential cause for this cave being unsolvable! I have just manually fixed this cave directly inside the GDS caveset file (using a hex editor, moving the outbox from the first row to a nearby titan wall in the second row, not too far away from t...

Problem with first/last row not scanned for PLCK cave
A player of cave "Cave 19" of the GDash cave set "caves/The_Bremer_Town_Musicus/Three_Boulder_Dash_Games_B.gds" has brought the following issue to my attention: After collecting enough diamonds in this cave, the exit does not open. :( A quick check reveals that this is because th...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
I do not fully understand the reason why i is that way on GDash but it works that way. I think the option Force Renderer results in 60 fps. You can always mail the author of the latest GDash fork, he’s a nice guy from Germany… That's good to know, and you are right that it would probably be a good ...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
In GDash you can change the option "PAL-Timing" for each cave. Just open a cave in the editor and open the settings for it. Yes, I know. You can do the same in the R'n'D level editor, under "CONF -> Engine" settings. There is no specific setting for PAL or NTSC (yet). Not sure w...

Re: Dustin's Boulder Dash
Cool new cave set! (And easy enough so that I at least have a chance to play it! )
I have updated the GDash level package for R'n'D accordingly, to be played with Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine!

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
Just play the cave "Around the clock" of my CWS Boulder Dash 3 with 60 fps vsync in GDash and in R'n'D. It's included in R'n'D. You will see for yourself. Thanks! I already did some testing, could not find something suspicious so far. However, choosing "normal speed" or "fa...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
Hmm, I'm not sure... Judging by cave 03 (and the expanding walls case), it affects sounds in the visible area as well, since the missing sounds come from the expanding walls that expand as you eat the dirt next to them. That seems to be my impression, anyway... But that said, I believe that in BD e...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
That's for sure, best xmas present ever! :D I'm sure that would've been my dream at the age of 6 when I've launched Boulder Dash for the first time on my Speccy with dad. I'm pleased that you like it, and happy about those childhood memories! :) Can anybody check if the following snapping behaviour...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
One thing I noticed is that it seems at least with 60 fps vsync time seems to be running a bit faster than in GDash. Yes, that's right. If you set screen updates to 60 fps (as required for 60 Hz VSync), the whole game engine will run faster (as scrolling would not be smooth otherwise). I made a tig...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
Grats on getting 4.4.0.0 released, Holger! it's a really nice milestone release and I'm happy you've seen the project through to completion! :) Thank you! :) I have a little report based on playing the latest release. It seems like the sound priorities and/or sound mixing is incorrect sometimes, wh...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
But I have to admit that it would be nice to be able to edit larger parts of the playfield without changing the tile size that is too small. Can't you just use a different window size for the editor only? At least as large that regular Boulder Dash caves can be displayed as a whole. Yes, that would...
