Re: Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary?
I got the game and played it for a while. First I noticed that there is no possibility to define keys for controlling the game. Never seen a game where I can't define the keys by myself. I'm not a big fan of gamepads for some games, Boulder Dash belongs to the group for me. So keyboard is my first c...

Re: Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary?
Sounds promising.
Can this weird score indication when collecting diamonds be switched off? Looks awful and distracts a lot.

Re: Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary?
Would you consider it a worthy successor or does it feel like a clone - close but without the real Boulder Dash feeling?

Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary?
Did anybody already buy the latest Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary? How is the game play and game mechanics? Is it worth buying or does it differ that much that is not worth playing?

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
But at the moment the default tool is the drawing tool - and that could cause unwanted placement of elements. That was my initial idea that this should not happen but just clicking on the playfield without selecting a tool.

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
In the editor it would be cool if the actual position is shown somehow. Maybe a blinking tile or a border around the tile when moving the cursor/mouse (GDash uses this method). And somehow it is unusual that there is no select tool (as far as I can tell it's similar to the pick up tool in RnD) as de...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
The multiple lives option for the Boulder Dash engine is just great!
It would be cool if playing could be continued by pressing the snap key or joystick button after losing a live.

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
Very interesting!
I think it’s a bit uncertain what Apple does with OpenGL, it would certainly be better to implement something like bgfx…

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
I do not fully understand the reason why i is that way on GDash but it works that way. I think the option Force Renderer results in 60 fps. You can always mail the author of the latest GDash fork, he’s a nice guy from Germany…

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
In GDash you can change the option "PAL-Timing" for each cave. Just open a cave in the editor and open the settings for it. There is no specific setting for PAL or NTSC (yet). 50 fps can only be used with GTK+ or SDL but I think this is related to the "PAL-Timing" checked for eac...

I also think that with the Boulder Dash engine there should be 3 lifes. Not endless tries.

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
Just play the cave "Around the clock" of my CWS Boulder Dash 3 with 60 fps vsync in GDash and in R'n'D. It's included in R'n'D. You will see for yourself. Thanks! I already did some testing, could not find something suspicious so far. However, choosing "normal speed" or "fa...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds with GDash game engine
I made a tight time limit for collecting the next clock in my CWS Boulder Dash 3 cave Around The Clock. In GDash I can reach the next clock barely in time in 60 fps vsync, in R'n'D time runs out half the way. That should not happen. Could you provide me with a test level that shows this misbehavior...
